ABOUT US:
At their AGM in May 1997, Skate Canada granted permanent membership to
A-T Precision Skating Club as their own sanctioned Skate Canada Club. This would
not have been possible without the assistance of the late Bill Phillips who, at
that time, was a member of the Board of Directors of Western Ontario
Section. Then, in May 2009, Club members voted to amend the Club name to East Elgin Synchronized Skating Club which better describes the area in which the team members are from and the arena where weekly practices are held.
Currently, the Club supports one team, Encore, which competes at the Adult III level. Criteria for Adult III means the team may consist of 8 - 20 skaters. Skaters must be 19 years of age as of July 1st preceding the competition season and 50% of the team must be 35 years of age. Encore has a conscious commitment to making the synchronized skating experience fun and rewarding to nurturing a team atmosphere. It is exciting and fun, but takes a strong work ethic and commitment to the team in order to succeed. The team practices weekly at the East Elgin
Community Complex in Aylmer.
